Palmetto Implant Practice Development

Modern implant dentistry is a substantial part of every growing dental practice. Although confusing for many dentists, surgical and restorative systems have progressed to actually simplify the process for patients. Over the past 20 years we have reduced the surgical time to place implants, reduced the healing time to load implants, and more recently reduced the time before placing a provisional restoration on an implant. The science behind all these improvements is fascinating and well documented. These improvements have drastically increased patient acceptance and practice development.

Our surgical methods have changed substantially as we have learned more about the science of bone and soft tissue healing around implants. The materials, methods and components we use to restore implants are evolving monthly. With all these changes in implant dentistry it is difficult for the general dentist to remain fully aware of both the materials and methods best suited for each situation. Without a grasp of these improvements the dentist will be challenged to convey the benefits to patients. Thus, treatment plans will lack this option for patients and dentists will lack the rewards of providing the treatment.

Dentists who are able to integrate complex implant treatment options in their practice and explain their great benefit to patients will find substantial reward. The goal of Palmetto Implant Practice Development is to support dentists in this effort. This premier dental club’s mission is to provide the most advanced treatment planning experience for doctors in order that they may see their practice grow. We do this by using nationally recognized mentor href="documents/Christopher_D_Ramsey.doc">Christopher D. Ramsey, D.M.D. to lead us through 5 well-planned sessions throughout the year. The sessions are carefully tailored to allow for the dentist’s presentation of personal complex cases. Extensive learning takes place as the dentist and mentor work through the treatment planning of each case. As the year progresses the members have an opportunity to perform the treatment on their patients and discuss it with the group. This exclusive club is limited in its membership to general dentists who are ambitious and eager to learn through participation.
